🌪️ Twisters, Tail Wags & Pirates? Unleash The Weekend
If you’re bored this weekend, that’s a you problem!

In this email:

Pirate first. Everything else later.
👋 Hey there !
You’ve officially made it, what does the light at the end of the tunnel look like? It looks a lot like pirate cocktails, waterfront movie nights, epic fireworks, and a street food lineup sent straight from the flavor gods.
This weekend is shaping up real nice, and if you’re looking for an excuse to get outside, eat something fried, dance a little, or maybe adopt a dog (or four)… consider this your sign.
Let’s make some plans before they all sell out, shall we?
👇 Here’s what’s going down.
🎬 Family Movie Night Under the Stars? Yes, Please

Green with envy? Just channeling Elphaba.
School’s out. The weather’s warm. And Wicked (yes, the sing-along version) is playing outdoors at The Bay this Friday, May 30. If that doesn’t scream family night magic, I don’t know what does.
Here’s the deal:
📍 Where: The Oval at The Bay (1055 Blvd of the Arts, Sarasota)
🕢 When: Friday, May 30 @ 7:30 PM – 10:10 PM
💚 What: The beloved musical Wicked, sing-along style. So yes, you can belt “Defying Gravity” with zero shame.
Bring a blanket, your loudest singing voice, and maybe someone to duet with. The Nest Café will have snacks, popcorn, and drinks—because no one sings on an empty stomach.
It’s totally free (thanks, Desenberg Foundation 💚), family-friendly, and outdoors. Basically a no-brainer.
🏃♀️ Palmetto Runners (and Walkers, and Coffee Lovers)... This One’s for You

Step 1: Load carbs. Step 2: Fake an injury.
This Saturday, May 31, lace up and meet us at the Palmetto Marriott Resort & Spa for the Palmetto Miles: Summer Kickoff — a casual, all-ages 5K that’s more “start-of-summer good vibes” than hardcore race day energy.
📍 Where: “The Yard” at the Palmetto Marriott Resort
🕗 When: Saturday, May 31 · 8–10:30am
🎟️ Cost: Free to join, free parking, all ages, all paces welcome
Here’s what’s going down:
🏃♂️ A 5K around the resort (starts at 8am — yes, it’s early, but there’s coffee after, promise)
👟 Brooks is letting you demo their latest running shoes — test-drive those babies on the actual run
💪 Elite X Fitness is leading a pre-run stretch so you don’t cramp up halfway through
🐾 The Humane Society of Manatee County will be there if you want to meet your future dog (or just get some tail wags)
Run a little, sip a lot, maybe fall in love with a rescue pup. Not a bad way to spend your morning.
🐶 PSA: You Might Meet Your New Best Friend This Weekend

🎸 Flamenco Meets Jazz This Friday in Sarasota

One night in Sarasota, a passport to Spain.
If your idea of a good night includes flamenco guitars, Latin jazz, and a glass of wine in hand, block off your Friday night.
Don Soledad and Pablo Arencibia are bringing Spain Infinitus to WSLR + Fogartyville this Friday, May 30 — and it’s gonna be a vibe.
Here’s what you’re in for:
🎶 A musical tribute to Michel Camilo & Tomatito, featuring selections from their “Spain” trilogy (Spain, Spain Again, Spain Forever).
🎹 Timeless pieces from Chick Corea, Paco de Lucía, Astor Piazzolla, and even Ennio Morricone.
🎼 Plus: original works from Soledad’s albums Camino de Seda and Soluna.
It’s a gorgeous mix of jazz and flamenco, performed by two masters of the craft. Soledad studied in Spain with legends and has shared the stage with some serious names (including a rock singer and a jazz icon). Arencibia? He was performing internationally before most of us finished middle school.
📍 Where: WSLR + Fogartyville, 525 Kumquat Ct, Sarasota
🕗 When: Friday, May 30 | 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
🎟️ Get Tickets
This is one of those shows where you’ll walk out feeling like you just traveled across continents — without leaving your seat.

Just bring your appetite, good vibes, and maybe an extra tote bag. You’re gonna leave full and happy.
That’s the scoop, crew
Whether you're dancing with pirates, adopting your new ride-or-die furball, crying during a WWII tribute (no judgment), or just showing up for the free snacks — this weekend is stacked.
So hydrate, rally your people, and maybe throw a foldable chair in the trunk (you know you’ll need it).
Catch you out there — same time, same vibe, next week.
Stay salty, stay sunscreened, and whatever you do... don’t forget the bug spray.
Until next time,
